Veggies on the Grill

I love summertime! I especially love all the fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as being able to use the grill everyday, instead of heating up the house by using the oven. Our favorite thing to cook on the grill, besides meat, is fresh veggies!! We usually do potatoes, carrots, onion, and green & red peppers. We also like to throw in some asparagus, sweet potatoes, squash, or zucchini.

Slice all veggies evenly.
Place on foil. (I make my own foil bag.)

We sprinkle Mrs. Dash over our veggies. You can also just do salt and pepper, or any other seasonings of your choice.
Add a few tablespoons of butter.
Close up your bag, making sure there are no holes for the juices to escape.
Place on grill. We set our grill between low and medium and flip the bag every 10-15 minutes. We let it cook a total of 40-45 minutes, depending on how full we have the bag.
(And yes! It was raining..and I was grilling brats and veggies!! We need a covered porch..but for now, grilling in the rain works!)

Voila!! Finished product! I was barely able to snap this picture before the rest of the veggies were devoured! We love veggies like this..it's definitely a perk of summer. However, you can do this same thing in the oven..but I'd make sure you put the foil bag on a baking sheet, just in case it leaks juices.

Walk & Roll

The Richland County Walk & Roll was last Saturday. We sold out of our chicken noodles and funnel cakes. We had fun and raised just over $500. Being our first year with a team, and only having 2 months to raise money for the American Cancer Society..we did really well!! We donated right at $6,000 to the ACS and $2,000 to the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation. Thanks to everyone who was on our team and helped out at our events and raised money! Also, a huge thanks to those who supported our team and donated!! In the whole realm of things, $8,000 does not go very far for cancer research, but if everyone got a 25 person team together and raised even half of what we did..could you imagine the immense amounts of research that could be done?!? Or whose life your dollar may be saving?!?

Mom's luminaria's from Tony & Marla Adams & Family, Steve & Jill Weiler, Lori Shipman, Jim & Karen Scherer, Bob & Sondra Geiger.

This is not all of our team..as we are missing half of them. But we planned a picture at 6..and went ahead and took one no matter who was there or not.

Me..frying funnel cakes in the dark..with a head lamp on. I'm sure we looked pretty funny!!

Craziness

I was flocked last week. This is something they do every year for Relay for Life. I thought it was pretty funny!! Rylan of course thought I was an idiot for taking a picture of it. :) What's new though?? I photograph everything and he tells me I'm stupid for doing it. :) He means well though!!

We waitressed at the Gypsy last Thursday for Taco Night to raise money for our Walk N Roll team. Bart, Jen, Rylan, Me, Samantha, & Leslie. The almost $900 we collected all came from tips!! It was a great night and we appreciate everyone who came out and supported our event!!

Needless to say, since we've been so busy, our house has been neglected. Rylan and I decided Friday that we had to put our laundry away before it took over our guest bedroom and laundry room. So we put all the clean laundry on our bed and this is what we walked into after cleaning the rest of the house. There was still laundry in the basement to add to this!! It was a crazy amount of laundry to be put away. And again..Rylan told me I was stupid for taking a picture of this. But I had never seen so much laundry!! AHH!

Chicago Field Trip

I went to Chicago last Tuesday with Art Club. We went to the Art Institute, went to Millennium Park, and walked around on Michigan Avenue. We took a great group of kids and had a blast!! We saw The Bean and had to get pictures of us and the kids in front of it.

This picture cracks me up! Two pregnant ladies taking pictures of themselves in The Bean with the city scape behind us.

Waiting for the bus to head home.
Thanks for a great trip Christina!! I had a blast with you!! Many good laughs too!

18 Weeks

We hit 18 weeks this past weekend. Seems like time has flown by..yet we are barely half way there. Still feeling good, trying to stay fit, eat healthy, and get plenty of rest.
(Not sure what I'm doing with my hair. I want to let it grow..but yet I loved it when it was above/barely at my shoulders and short in the back. Any suggestions??)

Went outside to pick the dead flowers off my petunias and water them this evening and found this. I left it alone and just worked around it. It's mother was chirping away at my from the tree. I love Spring and Summer!! Yay for warmth and the sun!!
