Our Needs

Okay..so I've typed in to Google "Amy needs" and then I searched "Rylan needs" and this is the first five things it came up with. The website I found several of mine from is some 'Notes From A Literaryvixen." They are cruel! I searched for Rylan's needs and found nothing! I guess he has no needs..and I have plenty for the both of us! Or it could just be that his name is not a common name...anyways...check it out!

Amy's Needs
1. Some help drinking. I think not..because we had plenty of fun for Erin's birthday! I have my moments..and they come about once every few months.

2. A topic for her film. That is true! I have not taken many creative pictures lately and I really don't have much to photograph in the dead of winter.

3. To either wake up or start getting some extra will-power. I had plenty of will-power yesterday! I did my usual workout routine in the AM...went to swim class after work...and then did an hour long ab workout. Now that's what I call will-power! (BTW: Mom has lost 18 pounds so far! OH! And I have lost 9!)

4. Some training. That I do need! Some training on how to lose more weight faster! And how to eat healthier! And on how to be a better teacher..build better websites..take better pictures..okay okay! I need LOTSA training!

5. Help. I always need help with something and I'm always willing to help others!

Try it yourself! Just Google [your name here] needs and it will come up with a huge amount of results! Way funny!

Still Going Strong

Mom has lost 15 pounds so far. We were talking last night as we were working out about a water aerobics class at JV Pools in Lawrenceville. It is at 4:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Then we are going to start doing our 4 mile walk tape on Wednesdays. I am so excited about the water aerobics though!

An Eventful President's Day

Rylan and I had to get blood and urine tests Monday morning for our life insurance policy through Country Companies. The lady came to our house..which was already filled full of men working on our remodeling. We could not eat or drink anything from like 9pm the night before until after she was done with us. I knew I would pass out...and I almost did. She stuck me in one arm and got nothing..so she had to do the other arm. Did I mention that I HATE NEEDLES!?! Anyways..I drank some orange juice and ate some Life cereal and everything came back into focus and my color finally came back. Rylan did fine..of course!

Then mom, mimi, Jen, and I went to Vincennes so mom could try her dress on. It needs alterations but is so pretty on her. Mimi found a dress and she looks great in it! It fit her to a 'T'..she bought it and took it home with us!Then when we got home..to our amazement..there was this in our yard..along with a German Shepherd.

Not really sure how the pig and dog got there..we think it might have been from the guy in the rest area who's truck was broke down. Both the animals were as friendly as can be..just a weird thing to come home to I guess.

No More Donkey Basketball For Me

So Donkey Basketball was not a success for me! When we signed the waiver saying that we would not sue the school nor the donkey company if we were hurt in any way or killed...that really freaked me out! It was hysterical to watch everyone else get hurt..but when it came time for me to ride...I was petrified! I drug the stupid animal around for a while and then decided that I would get on him. BAD IDEA!!! As soon as I made contact with him, he darted off and started bucking and jumping..and off I went. I landed on my left elbow and hip and oh did it ever hurt! Below is a picture of me right after I fell..I am grabbing my left hip because it hurt so bad and I couldn't even get up on my own. Brock Tarr and Gina Kocher had to help! My donkey is right behind the guy sitting on his donkey..he ran off and left me..stupid animal!
A few of us kept telling ourselves to "become one with the donkey"...and instead...I became one with the floor. My elbow is bruised up and so is my left hip..but my right hip is giving me some serious issues. It almost feels like it's out of place or something.

So I guess I am paying for the night that I thought would be a ton of fun! I have come to the conclusion that donkeys and I do not get along!

Donkey Basketball

So..I was talked in to playing Donkey Basketball a few weeks ago..and now I'm really getting cold feet. The game is this Saturday..Valentine's Day. I know! What a way to spend my Valentine's Day..on a donkey! I am on a team of several teachers and students. There are many other people playing, including community members. It's not the whole 'riding the donkey' thing that scares me..it's more a fear of public humiliation!!!!!!

This is how I assume it will look...hopefully not any more eventful for me than sitting on a donkey who does not move!!

However, I'm sure it will be fun and we will all have some great laughs at everyone who is playing! I'll let you know how it goes! Afterwards..we have plans to go out to eat with Travis & Amy, Brock & Amanda, and Sarah & Brad. We're sure to have a great night!

We're Home Owners

Rylan and I signed on our house yesterday evening at First National Bank in Olney. Terri Clodfelter has been wonderful to work with at the bank..she got us a great interest rate and was patient with us through all of our questions and concerns. The Dobbs' move out date is March 14th...we would like to take a couple of weeks to paint and clean..then move in over our Spring/Easter Break, which is the second weekend in April.

I must say that we were a little scared..especially when Rylan wrote the check for our downpayment..YIKES!! I hope to NEVER write a check that large again for a long time!

The month of March will fly by fast and the next thing I know..it will be time to move in to our house..I'm so excited! Rylan is moving in first because it would cut his drive to school almost in half..and it really would not make a difference in my drive. So it makes more sense for him to move in..not only that..but I enjoy working out with mom every day way too much!

Mom's Weight Loss Expedition

I love our workout room more and more! jI love being able to go upstairs and workout whenever I please..no matter if the weather is nasty..I don't have to leave the house. It's so convenient
Mom has lost 12.25 pounds now. We have been working out like crazy since the first of the year. Every morning, mom jogs..yes jogs!..2 miles on the treadmill while I do a workout from Get Tough..it's an army training based book...and it kicks my butt every morning! We have been walking every evening outside with Laney since it's been so nice.
This is mom this morning on the treadmill jogging her 2 miles. I have decided to do a post of her weight loss once a week to try to motivate her to keep going! Check back every Tuesday to see what she's lost each week and her total for the year!

Snow Snow & More Snow

After being stuck in St. Charles at a Technology Conference, due to all the snow, from Monday night thru Thursday afternoon, I was more than ready to come home and play in the snow! Friday after I got home from work, I took Laney, Jen's Aussie, out to play in the snow..since Rylan wouldn't participate. Laney loves the snow and she loves to have someone to play with outside! She kept attacking my legs when I would run..which was not easy anyways with 11" on the ground. But I got to play in the snow and that's all that matters! I literally had to beg Rylan, for several days, to play in the snow with me..and he finally gave in! We played on the pond dam with Kristen and Blake Sunday afternoon. We found out that the best sled is a Boogie Board...usually used in the water. We had a great time and after 5 years...this is the first time Rylan and I have ever played in the snow together!

Mom's Birthday

We celebrated momma's bday a couple weeks ago at Jon & Lisa's. There is always a full house when we all go over there but we make the best of it and end up sharing lots of laughs! Mom enjoys taking way too many pictures of us over and over with my camera...and of course, we love posing for them!
