Concert of a Lifetime

Rylan and I took a road trip last night to St. Louis to go to the George Strait concert. Rylan's FFA Officers gave us tickets for Christmas!! What a great bunch of kids they are! We left Noble at 3:45 and booked it so we could meet Jesse at Union Station to grab a bite to eat with him. We only got to spend about 30 minutes with him..but as always, we enjoyed every minute of it! ;-)

Leann Womack performed first and then Reba sang.

Leean Womack came back out and sang 'Does He Love You' with Reba.

And then Melissa Peterman *AKA: Barbra Jean on Reba, came out and said a few words while she drank her beer and watched Reba sing the theme song to her hit TV show - 'I'm A Survivor' is the song. The act they did was hysterical!

Reba went off stage and came back in a taxi. If you've ever see the 'Fancy' music video, Reba get dropped off at her childhood home in a taxi. So they did a sort of reenactment of that and drove Reba up in a taxi so she could sing 'Fancy'.

And then finally..the king of country music came out! It's so funny to watch Rylan when they turn the lights off to bring George out..you can tell he is so excited! George was great as usual! We were glad to get to see him again..we saw him 3 years in a row and then didn't see him for 2 years..so we were having some definite withdrawals from George!

The concert started at 7 and we didn't get out of the concert until 11:30 and we got home a little after 2 a.m. But it was a great concert and we are thankful for Rylan's FFA Officers and their gift to us. We definitely enjoyed the evening/night/early morning together.

Leslie's Ultrasound

(I'm posting this per Leslie so Rhett's sisters and other family members can see this also!)

Leslie had her ultrasound yesterday. It was so exciting to see a little peanut inside her!

In this picture, which you may not be able to see, you can see the profile of the baby.
(This is a picture of the printed ultrasound..so it is not the best quality.)
You can tell what is the forehead, eyes, nose, and mouth forming. We were also able to see the limbs and watch them move slightly. They are still short little nubs, but we could see them moving. And of course we saw the heart beat. What a neat thing to experience!

More Baking

I made Cinnamon Bread this past Saturday to take to our church's Valentine Social and Auction to be auctioned off. Here are some pictures I took in the process of making it.
Oh yummy! It was very tasty and the one loaf I took to the church auction brought $18! That's expensive bread!

Catching Up

I have been so busy lately that blogging is the last thing on my mind. Although some people think it should be the first..sadly enough, it isn't. So here goes on the catching up. Erin and August came over a few weekends ago and ate pizza with us. It was a much needed visit! We all get so wrapped up in our busy lives that we forget to sit down and just visit and enjoy our time together as friends. August instantly dug into the toy basket. Mom gave her a pink cowboy hat, so August had that on and she found the little sparkly microphone in the toy basket at my house and put on a show for us.

First she sang to Rylan.

Then she sang some more for Erin and I. Notice Mr. & Mrs. Potato head watchin her also! :-)
Later after we ate, mom & Pat and Bill & Deb stopped by on their way home from dinner together. So Pat taught August a song. He sang a line..then she sang the same line..and it's really not the perfect song for August to learn..as you can imagine, since Pat made it up!!

Also, notice how August is standing on a piece of wood from one of my baskets..it was her stage to perform on! I just love spending time with Erin and August!! I can't wait for the new baby to come too!!

School Newspaper Updates

So we've updated The Talon, the school newspaper here at Newton Community High School, and it is awesome!! We have gone from print copy last year, to an online pdf file last semester, to finally a newspaper website. The kids give me new stories several days a week to post and they are taking pictures and videos to put on the newspaper site also! We are SUPER excited about it! Check it out! It's a work in progress but it's much better than what we've had in the past!! The banners for the NCHS website and Eagle Eye all sorta match. I've created them all and we are very excited about our new updates. My WebDesign classes create the pictures on the front page and the Eagle Eye pages. Check them out and let me know what you think!
