Trick - or - Treaters

We had 5 little one's stop by tonight. The VanDyke's and the Steber's. I didn't get a picture of Jorie and Jacobi..but they were dressed up as a hot dog and a hamburger. Super cute! Below is a picture of Dane, Payge, and Kenna. I loved Dane's leggings!!

NCHS Cheerleaders

I did a shoot for the girls Monday, right before our end-of-season pizza party. The backdrop looked great, especially for the individual shots. I love the group pictures though!! I will begin uploading the rest of the pictures to my Shutterfly Site tonight.

Last Game of the Season

We headed to Breeze Mater Dei last night for our last football game of the 2010 season. Alicia and I always have the best times together at games! (Along with having Sydney by our sides of course!) We were prepared for really cold weather. We had our UnderArmor leggings and mock turtle necks, scarves, hats, gloves, and several blankets. We were suited up for frost..and were plenty prepared! Newton lost 21 to 48. But the boys played one heck of a game against a bunch of giants. We are taking a small break before basketball season begins..and then cheer practice will start back up in about 2 weeks before games start. Alicia and I both need a break..BAD!! :-) We love each other and we love the girls..but we just can't handle the drama that happens amongst the squad. Ahh! Below is the last picture for football seaon of the girls and us. They are a little blurry because my girls don't quite know how to hold still...but we tried!

This is what we both looked like on the 2 hour drive home. We were exhausted! We got back to the school..woke up as we pulled in the parking lot..our contacts glued to our eyes..very grouchy and tired..I had a tummy ache..and I still had to drive 30 minutes home before I could go back to sleep. Oh what a night! I've been told basketball season is worse than football..double the games and late nights! I love it though!!

I am NOT a Woman..I AM a Sophisticated Lady!

Oh yah! That's right! Rylan called me a woman last night and that random statement came out of my mouth. I didn't even think about what I was saying until after I had already said it. We both cracked up about it..along with many other things as he was getting things ready for National Convention. I love nights like last night where we are lazy and so tired that we laugh at everything.

2 Years!

AHH!! I can't believe I missed my 2 year anniversary of my blog! I started my blog on October 9th of 2008. I always remember because it is when we have our fall Parent/Teacher Conferences..which are currently going on! I have 7 parents coming to see me between tonight and tomorrow morning. While that will only take up about an hour of the 8.5 hours allotted for the conferences, I have plenty of things to keep me busy! Including emailing and calling other parents that chose not to come (positive contacts always!!), working on the Student of the Month certificates and letters, entering in attendance grades, planning for the next few weeks, cleaning up my classroom, organizing fundraisers for the Class of 2013, writing referrals for missed days...the list could go on! I think teachers need 1 day a month to just catch up! There is not enough time in the day to get everything done that needs to be done. I always leave school with a list of things that I need to do on my desk...just waiting for me when I get back the next morning. Buuuuut...I love my job! So it's totally worth it!!

This is what my classroom looks like tonight. Pretty boring. 4 parents down..3 more to go. I don't like an empty classroom. I like it to be filled with chatty children! Monday will come and I will my chatty children back. But for tonight and tomorrow, I'll get some work done and enjoy my quiet time.

A Day of Rest

Today was a much needed day of rest and relaxation!! I slept in till 8:30 and worked on my list of 'things to do' for a bit. Then I decided it was WAY too nice to not be outside enjoying the warmth and sunlight. Sooo..I called BobbiJo and we went riding with Jen and Bart for a couple of hours. They just got back from their honeymoon last night..so it was great to get to see them!

We checked out their basement..that is in the process of being poured..then we stopped at Calf-Killer and Rafetown to stick our feet in the chilly water. I love the river..and I didn't get the chance to spend much time on it this Summer. We had a good time and I'm glad I postponed my 'to do' list!!

Updates

I know! It's about time I post something right?! It's just been absolutely nuts these past few weeks! So I'm just going to give an update. Last week was Homecoming at Newton...there is only 1 word that can sum it up..CRAZY!! And that it was..I was not home any evening last week. Between classes and events at the school..my week was just insane. Friday night the boys played Mt. Zion and it was by far the most boring game I have ever seen. Mt. Zion's players are really rough and our boys took some really hard hits! We lost 0 - 28..I believe. Saturday..we got a 40" flat screen TV because ours died completely. Then....we got McKenna all day! We love her to death!! She's such a cutie!!
