Test of Patience

So...............
This is what I had at my house last night for 2.5 hours!!
Appleseeds!!
A program for middle school girls through our church. It includes a bible study, crafts, a snack, manners, and prayer from 6-8:30ish. It really is a great program for the girls and I do enjoy spending this time with them. I jumped in this week with them because my classes finally ended on Thursday nights. I helped with the last group that we had and really had a good time with them! I was a little hesitant to have them all over to our house just because we are soooo cramped on space..and we had 8 girls and 5 adults..ahhhh! They did their bible study and I gave them all drinks..and I was freakin' out that they were going to spill their lemonade all over my table and carpet..but that went smoothly. Then they did snacks and manners..and let's just say that God must have sent them my way for a reason..to give me patience and to realize that nothing is ever bad enough to not be able to fix (OR CLEAN) it. Then they did crafts..and used hot glue guns!
Just to see all these cords and hot glue guns all over my table really freaked me out! So I put plates out ahead of time for them to put the glue guns on..some did..and some didn't. So I frantically..and as kindly as I could..reminded them to put the glue guns back on the plates when they were finished. They all gave me hugs and told me thanks for having them over and left. And I looked at my house..that was moments ago..very noisy, cluttered, and distracting. It was, what I would call, an absolute disaster! And I thought..how am I EVER going to clean all this up before 9 (my bedtime!!) So I carried my extra chairs downstairs..and put the hot glue covered plates in the sink. I wiped down the counters..and then my hot glue covered table. AHHHHH is right! I nearly wanted to cry when I wiped over it and found all those little bumps of glue! Luckily they chipped right off with the pressure of a fingernail though!
I took all 5 leaves out of my table and got the dining room back to normal..and then noticed this as it crumbled beneath my feet.
Oh yes! CRUMBS on my floor!! Not just here though..all over the dining room, kitchen, and entry way of the living room. I swept and vacuumed and got everything back to normal and sat on the couch and laughed at what had previously occurred. Me..freaking out about crumbs on my floors and hot glue on my table. When in all actuality..these are just petty little things that normal kids do..and I really should be thankful to have such great people in my lives..including children! I guess I just was only used to having August over..not 8 middle school girls!

This is what my house feels like on a daily basis! I know it is time to clean when Aug tells me she has to wear her shoes inside because the floor is dirty!
